Here is the latest mount we have back from Terry @ Lagoon Taxidermy.

This buck was shot 6 or 7 years ago in region 7. The horns sat at another taxidermists for a few years waiting for a cape, Terry happened to have one so he did the deer and did another great job.

Anybody want to guess the score?

Is interesting. Looks good on the wall. Hell, the wall looks good by itself!

Beautiful character buck. Taxi did a nice job. I'll guess it has about 157" of bone on it, NT. Don't let Tinney see this one...8-)

It looks like a whitetail cape to me. And from the front the antlers look like a whitey with those brow tines but looking from the side it sure looks like a mulie. Either way I would have shot it!! 182 gross

Guess what BW, it's got a 4 pt mulie driver's side.

That's fine but it doesn't change the fact it's a whitetail... The strange horn growth is probably attributed to it's old age would be my guess.

Sorry. I'm in a shitstirring mood. Not trying to pick on you BW but there is no way in sam hell you will ever convince me that the lefty side of that buck came from whitetail deer genetics :D

do all whities have to look exactly the same???? have u not seen some of the freaky bucks in big buck mag???

BCrams

Pure whitey as they come. I see no hybrid in that buck. Lots of whitetail bucks will have a little freak antler development that may show a fork. Does it mean a hybrid?? No it doesn't. It baffles me how ignorant some folks on here can be and blatantly annouce its a hybrid.

I have seen photos of whitetail bucks from Michigan and other eastern states where there are no mule deer and see such forkings similar to mule deer that those of you who say hybrids - would without hesitation say its a hybrid if you did not realize where it came from !

Get with it.

Kinda like how there is tons of 3 point muleys with whitetail like racks...where there are actually no whiteys at all!

I have seen lots of whitey bucks from region 7 that have heavy, deformed and odd looking antler structure... It's quite common from my experience. They usually always seem to be the older, warrior bucks from what I have seen. Not so much younger bucks.
