west kootenay whitetails

Looking for information on hunting whitetails in the west kootenays particularly in the castlegar area. Info on terrain, best time to go, general access(not trying to get anyones secret spot) and hunting techniques. I ususally get a buck in early september in region 8 and am looking for ways to extend my whitetail season.

Last week to 10 days of November. Whitetails are rutting and running all over the place. I usually sit and wait, little grunting, little rattling, and a little shooting. How big are you holding out for, or are you aiming for a meat buck?

This year there was so much snow early on that the ended up rutting in different spots along there migration route, at least thats what it seemed to me. So depending on the snow load they could be anywhere

I think I'd probably be looking for a 4 or 5 pt. Are you allowed two bucks per season or one in that area.

yes we are allowed 2 bucks

You can take 2 whitetails or 1 whitetail and 1 mulie. Unless they change the regulations for 2007-2008
