Me and my buddies are planning a wolf hunting trip over the family day long weekend and I was wondering if anyone had some final trips or tricks they wouldn't mind sharing. Our plan is to bait a lake and then sit on the shoreline and hit the predator calls. We will be up in the Bridge Lake area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers, Sylus

Haha that's the best one, dress warm and get ready to hunker down. And try to limit the hot toddys so you can still shoot straight.

There's a hill about 2km North east of wavey lake, with a couple lakes on its north west and east side. I circled 3/4 of this hill via road, covering about 6km or so. Tracks and piss markings everywhere. North end of deka and drewry lake are supposed to be very good as well.

You our wont be driving to the end of deka but it's not too long of a hike. Bowers lake might be the best of them all but it'll also be a few km hike.

Good luck!!!! Maybe see you out there, I'll be up on grizzly mountain and north Deka. I know of a BIG black bugger that my parents have seen a few times now while they have been out on the sleds and lots of fresh sign after the last snowfall.

How well do you know the area? I can PM you some specific roads/areas to try out, but there are wolves all over the area, just pick a place and you have a good chance of connecting. Do you have a quad or sled? There have been a lot of Cougar sightings/kills in the Sheridan Lake area as well

The Deka to bridge side is "newer to me" I know the hathaway lake side better. From where my parents have seen sign to where you are I could say anywhere between bridge and windy mountain should have sign, how fresh idk.

I know there's a fair # of them in the area and they are really taking a toll on the ungulate populations. We will be using sleds or quads and then snow shoes into sets that's only if it snows. As of early this week it was well above freezing and melting like crazy.

Might as well put some holes in some fur than the IMG

But how am I supposed to stay warm if I am not sipping brandy all day?

Thanks for help guys! I will post a trip report when we get back if anything interesting happens. I don't have sled but I do have snowshoes and hiking doesn't bother me.

Didn't end up seeing any wolves, or coyotes for that matter. Was still a good weekend out.
