Maybe an extra $100, but vortex vipers are a great bino. I had my heart set on swarovski slc's when I bought my vipers. Side by side I couldent notice a difference in glass, and the vipers felt better in my hand. Dollar wise they'r tough to beat.

What he said - Vipers are really good value for money, look at the Talon HD's as well.....

I have the Talon HDs, right in that price range. I love them. Great value for the money spent, in my opinion.

Currently own Diamondbacks.

Saving for Viper HDs.

zeiss terra's are within that price range and I would recommend them over vortex in similar price ranges.

Have you owned Talon / Viper HD's?

I returned my Terra's for Talon's after hunting once with them, and comparing them out in the field - (no comparison actually!)

The Terra's are really cheap Chinese glass - you really do get what you pay for with Zeiss..

ok whatever you say champ. I am entitled to my recommendation, and yes I have used all three. and you are wrong about the glass but that's ok if you like vortex better.

Why has Nikon not been thrown into the mix? I do not own any but was thinking of getting a pair of lower power ones.

I own Vortex Viper HD 10x42 and they are great. Hope I never need the warranty but it is a good one if I do
