me and a friend have some time off and would like to bag a wolf or 2, help out the cause. i have a good fox pro, does anyone know any good places to go in southern bc? never hunted wolves before and don't want it to be a time waste if we are in the wrong spot

If it were legal to shoot in Pr. Rupert it would be a real hotspot.

If you want to try to help the Monashee caribou, go to the units in Region 3 and 4 that list NBL on wolves. The closest units to Vancouver are probably 3-34 to 3-44 (anywhere NE of Clearwater, North Adams River, Scotch Creek, Seymour River, and Perry River NE of Sicamous. To the north of Revelstoke, you have 4-38 and 4-39 on either side of the Columbia River.

All these units have plenty of wolves. Unfortunately, they also have plenty of thick bush and lots of snow, so hunting and vehicle access will not be easy this time of year except where they are actively logging. Ask the loggers and any local snowmobilers if they have seen any wolves or tracks.

Do you have access to a sled?

I flew over an area yesterday that had a pack of at least 20 wolves in it - but you will only get in there with a sled.

PM if you are rigged up for it

As 6pt...pointed out. Maze Lake area is a great spot. My cabin is just south of there and while hunting moose this fall in and around Maze we found tons of tracks everywhere. Maze will be easy to get into as that road should be cleared from HWY 97. From there a ton of spurs and clearings within a 10 minute drive. From the LM you are looking at 5 hours.
