Back on the prairie's a 1/2 oz white lead headed jig with a 4-5 inch strip of sucker belly was the lure of choice so I would think your combination would be killer.

depends where you're fishing, if fin bait is allowed
large jigs are my go to, bucktail or plastics.....or if you can bait fish, hanging a cisco or smelt below a dodger/small flasher works well, "cold lake special"
these guys had free shipping to Canada last week, not sure how long that will last as they said it was a system glitch lol

I fish in Ontario every couple years and they use 3 and 4 inch tube jigs a lot for lake trout, white, chartreuse, shad. Guys out there also use 5 or 6 inch swimbaits and lipless crankbaits if fish are active. big Williams spoons are also popular. Lakers love white and yellow. The big thing there is to use electronics like a vexilar or similar machine because many times the active fish are half way up to the surface and charge your lure if you crank like hell past them on the way up them they will often charge and smash most of the way to the surface. you would never know they did that without an ice fishing fish finder or flasher. Live or dead minnows work as well depending on the lake, but they aren't legal most places around here. Search lake simcoe ice fishing for tons of information on ice fishing lake trout.
