First Lite gear is awesome! I would lean that way. Good company, located close to us. Merino can't be beat, in my opinion, by anything synthetic, and First Lite was the original in the market.

I have a First Lite Stormtight jacket and a pair of Kanab pants and like them both only negatives are the sizing runs big and the cargo pockets on the Kanab pants are in a weird spot.

I use sitka, really enjoy the comfort and strength thus far-plus have had excellent customer service with any issues.

That being said I have researched firstlite a good bit and really like the sounds of it as well-plus you can also buy local

What's the equivalent to Sitka Stormfront Pants from:
Kryptec, Kuiu, First Light?

I vote Kuiu. It's extremely durable and comfortable. The patterns themselves don't matter much, and most simply pick based on looks knowing performance is likely all similar.

However, wait until later in the season as they're opening up a Canadian distribution and pricing will significantly decrease since we'll no longer have to pay duties and extra shipping.

I can only imagine the backorder wait times from a Canadian store, they cant even keep up with the american one now..

Marino Rocks.
Been hunting 30 years, regulating temperature is always a problem when hiking. Now I don't get drenched then frozen!

sitka merino base layer (pants and zip up shirt) by far my best gear upgrade this season. very happy with the performance.

I've heard sitka fits small, and i'm not exactly a small guy (6'3 240). I like the idea of buying local in first light and the new fusion pattern looks sweet. Anyone know when vantage point will get it in?

This is a little bit more about the pattern yet still could be useful. http://www.journalofmountainhunting.com/mountain-life---the-most-versatile-camo.html

Kuiu has no intentions of opening an outlet in Canada at this time. Was on another post recently. Good stuff though, have some and love it. Don't own any first light, but have heard good things. I don't care for Sitka, not a fan of the camo pattern, but decent gear. You really can't go wrong with any of the three, it will come down to camo pattern preference and your access to each brand. Kuiu obviously is a bit of a pain, First Light a little harder to get your hands on and Sitka well its everywhere.

I took a drive to cabelas yesterday, I lucked out and found Sitka dewpoint jacket and pants in the bargain cave for a great deal. I couldn't resist. Looks like good stuff I can't wait to use it thus coming season. Sitka is pricey but keep your eye out for sales.
