I have a goat tag for 6-9 area. I understand that this is a late winter and was wondering about back country accessibility. If there is anyone from that area interested in helping out with some info in any way it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just got some snow and suppose to get lots more Tuesday and Wednesday. It's light and fluffy right now. Sled access would probly be best for most of 6-9

Iv been chasing goats quite a bit this winter in 6-09. Not since this fresh dump of snow tho. The going wasent bad in my area, think it's just gotten a lot tougher with this snow tho lol. Iv never looked at other areas, but my 6-09 draw allows snowmobile access after December 14. Probably your best bet if allowed in your area also.

You're coming a long ways . . . your best chance will be the last couple of weeks of February with the longer days, firmer snow and better weather.

Depends where you are in 6-9. PM me if you want as I've got a pretty good handle on what's going on. In a nutshell, the snowpack is well below seasonal average and that likely won't change too quickly as we are quite far behind. Having said that, access changed quickly this past week as low elevation started to get more snow.

An avalanche transceiver is best served in combo with a shovel, probe and reliable partner.

Good luck with your hunt!
