My family goes to Newport beach every july long weekend. I buy a bag of puffed wheat squeeze them and put a few on my hook the catch big carp one after another right there. This all started when feeding the ducks bread. After catching a few ducks well onlookers gasped I needed a solution. God forbid if I pulled out my compound bow and killed a few.

Was Deer Lake the lake that was drained a few years ago because of the 'snake-head' fish suspected of coming from there?

Nope, that pond is in Central park.
Deer lake is close to Canada way and Kensington.

Was at a wedding a few years ago at Burnaby(?) Lake across the #1 from Deer Lake, and saw monster carp in there swimming through the. Weeds. They were easy 3 footers.
