Imagine if your one of these workers that puts there heart and sole into the Management and Science of what's best for BC wildlife sustainability. Only to be told, no your contributions don't mean any thing. We the Liberal government don't need as many of you, your science and opinions don't mean any thing when it comes to the wildlife, economy or the residents of this Province of BC. We the Liberal a Government are going to go with a completely different plan, skew your numbers and hope this all works out in the end ....... We hope.

I sure am glad I don't work for them, I'd be ready to throw the towel in and retire as many have before I get let go, as Wildlife should be Politically managed, not Science.

i'm not sure those biologists, environmentalists, fisheries, etc. who are university trained have it right all the time anyway, this summer, quesnel lake had a huge slide with much debris going into the lake for many, many miles, ANYHOW, many of us were trying to clean the beaches of this excess wood with small fires here and there, the conservation officer's boat pulled up to the beach and warned one of the residents that the smoke from the fire was not allowed to go toward land or in any direction but straight up, that it was an environment issue, if non compliance, large monetary fine would be issued, amount of $250., the whole community thought this was unbelievable and so the saga continues, sludge is still flowing into quesnel lake from the polley mine, why doesn't that biologist or environmentalist go over there in their boat.

As long as the pay cheque clears the political masters can do whatever they want. But I'm old and cynical.

You have it right on. I worked for Ontario MNR. We used to joke at "don't worry we're from the government" expectation when meeting the public. We knew that policy was not about the right thing to do but about plotting to keep political jobs. Must be a better way. The feds had to be sued in every instance in order for them to act on protecting species at risk.... in other words to do the job they were hired for.

The wildlife managers and researchers are sick to their stomach right now. Most of them are "resident hunters" and cannot believe what has happened over the last two weeks.

The political decision to remove sheep from quota in Region 4 was done in complete isolation of science and has managers infuriated.

GOABC has made a huge mistake here as these are the people they are going to have to work with in the future and secondly the move to pull sheep off quota in Region 4 is going to put wild sheep populations at risk.
