Looks like I'll have time off around the Xmas holidays, but not long enough to warrant going home for the holidays, and wondering if any farmers/landowners need a couple wolves culled? (I still have two on my license)

Have you called the local C/O's to see if they can point you to a couple of ranchers?

As far as I know , NBL in the Peace for wolves.

You would think it would be NBL, but still states 3 in the regs and no mention of any changes in the news section. It is hard enough to get one on the ground in any given year, and some people never get a chance in a life time of hunting. There is plenty of Crown Land around to hunt wolves near FSJ. I will tell you that you will find tracks within 15 minutes of town, and based on my Crown Land deer hunting this year, will expect to find wolf tracks on almost every road within 1 1/2 hours (or less) of town. Expect to put on the miles, hunt them hard, call (howl) if the sign is fresh or you get a visual and be really lucky to shoot one! You do not have to be an expert caller, practice with your voice, it works! If you get them howling be persistent, even if you get a shot or two off, another one might come back in for a look! In my opinion private land opportunities exist, but can limit your opportunities as you might be restricted to that particular land base. Good luck!
