With no natural predators in New Zealand, rabbits have to be controlled by man. And man, can it be fun.

It is not me, but he is using CCI sub sonic .22 with suppressor.
Yes you can eat them (like chicken) but most don't.

Great way to fill the freezer, and a lot of fun.

I don't think I've seen that many rabbits in my whole life let in one field in one camera frame. I can only imagine how much damage they can do, probably pretty easy to get permission for a rabbit hunt from the farmers around there. Good shooting although I could see getting sick of eating rabbit, how do you cook them?

We did some bunny shooting when we were in New Zealand and one truly can't appreciate how many rabbits are there until you experience it. We killed about 400 in a couple hours. With no predators, it's scary how fast they reproduce. Need to get down there for the Great Easter Bunny Bash one year!

shot tonnes of rabbits when I was down there, subsonic ammo and suppressors. We ate the ones we head shot the rest we left for the hawks. In one field there must of been 400 rabbits on a hill side.

Have a friend from NZ for Easter they do an easter bunny hunt. 24 hrs shoot as many rabbits as you can. He carries shotgun and 22. Sometimes close shots shotgun and then father away 22. But you get thousands in a full day.

I guess an over/under combo of .22 LR / .410 or 20 guage would be great...
