Didn't the announcement occur after the site was back up and running? I don't recall hearing any chatter about an upcoming announcement on any of the hunting facebook groups while HBC was down. Wouldn't that have been a very poorly timed attempt at a conpiracy?

There is a lot of conspiracy that goes on in this world, but HBC upgrades are not one of them.

A more probable scenario is that HBC was paid off by Region 2 blacktails so that we could not exchange information during peak rut. They are getting more clever each year. In a few years, they will be hunting us with robots.
