My Island Deer Mount

I got back my Vancouver island deer mount back that I got with my bow it scored 97,5/8 what do you members think ??? :frown:.

Something is definitely weird looking. Tough angle with the camera to really tell whats wrong. Take some more photos from different angles. One thing from the angle you provided, it appears there is no facial features (like the hide was pulled over a smooth cone shaped surface.

And is the back left ear that torn up on the live creature or did the taxi man wreck part of the ear??

The tear in the ear is an old battle scare I love this deer mount its the best one I have on the wall in my home the Taxidermy did a fantastic job on this mount if he was to put this mount in a competition I would think he would get first place for his workmanship..:-)..

I don't think it's fair to give an opinion on the mount considering the angle of the pic. But it's a nice deer for sure.

X2 with more pics and different angles because from the pic you posted it looks like it got stung by a bee on the bridge of it's nose. Great buck with a bow and good score as well. I have always appreciated the island record book scoring method but also think some thing is lost with out taking gross score into consideration.

Very unique mount. I like the brow tines and battle scar in the ear!

The new pictures show a much better angle than the first. I like it! The antlers look bigger in the new pictures as well.

Those last 3 pics you posted show us that it is a very nice mount, the first pic didn't do it any justice IMO.

I like it a lot, it's not the usual "majestic" look we are accustomed to seeing, I imagine that's why it looked a little different to some at first.

He looks wary, like somethings up, a noise or something didn't seem right to him and he's trying to figure it out. Very cool, and with the amount of critters you get every year this is a neat change...nice deer 47.
