Ok so I was up the EAST side yesterday... No snow until about the 55km mark well after the huge mining project at the 42km mark where they have a minster work camp set up and have drilled tunnels big enough for them to drive in thru the mountain. But back to the road report little snow on the road some ice patched on a couple of up hill sections but nothing real crazy. The snow I saw was more like frost and I had no problems

That is actually a Hydro Project... The company doing the work looks like they are from Quebec and most of the workers up there don't speak any English haha. Nice eh come to BC and mess it up and then go back home and want to separate from the country.

Sad to say but looks like they are going to re root the river to run through the new turbines they are putting in, but hey it's just a river right there is lots of them. Sick!

I was with a buddy on the East side today Friday Dec 5th. Lots of fog. In the morning it was so bad we had trouble seeing the road going in. All day it rolled in and out at all elevations. No snow. Rained on and off all day. The lake side road out to km 35 was wet and slightly muddy. They were replacing a bridge at km35 I think it was. It appeared to be single lane there but we did not go beyond it. We walked up gated roads. There were several trucks carrying supplies and equipment for the Silver Creek Run of the River.
We hiked up gated roads. On the first one we were hiking up when 2 guys on quads with keys to the gate blew by us:-|. They were the only other hunters we saw all day long. On the way out there was 1/2 dozen guys, several vehicles and a trailer dropping trees onto the road for fire wood in the dark. At first we thought it was an accident scene.
Up higher there was ice on the roads. Watch your step. Careful coming down through the icy sections with your vehicle. Be aware it gets dark quick with sunset at 4:10. End of report.

I was up there yesterday, couldn't pass the construction at 48 k. Went other places.

Regarding messing B.C. up, last I checked it was the current Liberal government that approved those projects. I wonder who voted for them?

As far as the workers there go, I didn't have time to interview each one for his position on the sovereignty question. Had to go hunt elsewhere.

VICTORIA - Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. has received environmental assessment (EA) Certificates for the proposed Tretheway Creek, Shovel Creek and Big Silver Creek Waterpower Projects.
Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. develops, owns and operates run-of-river hydroelectric facilities, wind farms and solar photovoltaic parks. Innergex carries out operations in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia, as well as in Idaho. The company has been involved in the renewable power industry since 1990. Currently, Innergex operates 18 run-of-river plans, nine of which are in B.C.
Environment Minister Terry Lake and Energy and Mines Minister Rich Coleman made the decision to grant the EA Certificates after considering the review led by B.C.'s Environmental Assessment Office (EAO).
The proposed projects, totalling an estimated $194-million, will be located on Tretheway Creek, Shovel Creek and Big Silver Creek in the Harrison Lake area of the Fraser Valley Regional District. Once operational, the projects will produce up to 72 megawatts of run-of-river hydroelectric energy, enough to power 27,500 homes per year.
The projects will include 3.25 kilometres of new and upgraded roads and a 47-kilometre, 138-kilovolt transmission line from the existing Tipella Creek Waterpower Project to the Shovel Creek Waterpower project. The completed projects will generate no greenhouse gas emissions.
BC Hydro awarded Electricity Purchasing Agreement (EPA) for the projects in March 2010. Under the conditions of the EPAs, the Commercial Operational Date (electricity delivery date to the BC Hydro grid) is December 2015 for Tretheway Creek and November 2016 for Shovel Creek and Big Silver Creek.
The EAO assessment report concluded that the projects are not expected to result in any significant adverse effects, based on the mitigation measures and conditions of the EA Certificate.
The provincial EA certificates contain project design features, mitigation measures and numerous legally binding conditions that Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. must adhere to throughout various stages of the project.
