Asking for a couple quick questions about Harrison. Not looking for specifics, but more general info.

East or west, which has less people?

how far do you have to go to get out of the "herd" ?

Any issues with sketchy people?

looking to do a weekend trip, but don't want to pick the road more travelled. I'd hate to take one side and realized its a gong show. If you feel the need for top secrecy, PMs are fine too. Cheers and happy hunting.

Harrison is a gong show. Unless you have keys for the locked gates its not worth it.

Gong show. Both sides. East is best though but behind the gates or up beyond 30km

what he said!

Get out a map - take a compass (math) - put the pointy bit on Langley - scribe an arc 300 Km away from Langley - now start looking for a weekend get-a-way!

just went up there for 2 days past 30 km and beyond. I actually didn't see any other hunters at all. Mind you, I was there mid week. Lots of logging traffic on the main but other than that, nothing. No fricken deer either though. saw one big fat doe up on a hill at about 75 yds but thats it in two days.
Never seen grouse that spooky in my life. out of the dozen grouse seen, I almost got a shot off on one of em. the rest were history long before I could even take aim.

Unless you invest a lot of time scouting before hand I say don't waste your time.

Keep driving

I taken big deer on both sides of the lake but I work up there and know where to look and I have keys to get away from the crowds. Number one tip is find south facing slopes which there is not too many. Second tip hunt the steepest ground with big fir trees. These areas tend to have mossy floors. Also when you see the moss hanging from trees your generally in a spot that deer will hang out. Good luck
heres some bucks to get ya going second one is mine 1st is someone else

Both bucks are west Harrison bucks. Just not as many good spots on the west as there is up east. East Harrison bucks are not considered black tails.
