Region 3 black bear ?

Open til the end of the month but with no experience as yet, I'm wondering if its to late in the season? Already denned up? Any sightings or point in a general direction for a first timer will be s big help.

lots of fresh stumps tore up and new shit piles.

We were hunting last week, and stopped in one area along a trail to just listen and look around before we kept on moving, was quite thick could only see 50yards any direction, and after 2 min there was a bear just 15 yards in front of me with not many cares in the world walking away, we must have woken him from a nap haha we walked over and he was either resting or prepping his den under this huge blowdown tree, looked quite comfortable inside thought about going in for a sec but figured he might be back so we headed on down the trail

Saw one 2 days ago, well fattened up, as wide as it was tall.

Ya the one we saw was a small 4' little guy probably first winter solo jet black coat really nice and fat for sure he will be good for the winter
