Buddy and I picked up this 2 point WT after a short blood trail track and second shot to put him down. I had built this hoist and gambrel and was hoping to be able to try it out. Worked great and saved us some time as the light was fading. Not needed for every trip but think I will throw it in when there is room. Handy for solo hunts and times when you just want to get it skinned quick and get home.

It's built from stuff I had laying around aside from the pulleys. It slips in the receiver on the truck and comes apart in the middle to fit in my truck box. The jack is welded on as an afterthought after I put it on and hung on it and watched the truck hitch flex! My #250 is heavier than any deer it will be handling but I wanted it to be heavy duty.

Cable is the weakest link at 1/8" and it's limited by the height for bigger animals. Could hang a big animal but it might touch the ground. It's much heavier duty that the stuff I could find for sale. Should work for the average deer.

I have made my own as well, very handy. I have mine setup so it spins and I can swing game into the the bed of the truck.
