Daughter Tracys first Whitetail this am

We've been hitting it hard every weekend, and finally connected this morning. Left town a little late, and were parked waiting for shooting light, about 45 minutes later. I wanted to get into the woods and try rattling this morning, but we were too early to see enough. So we got our gear together, and walked out into a cutting block to wait for daylight. As it got lighter I tried a couple of rattling sequences and a deer came down the hill in front of us. A nice Whitetail buck. He stopped at around 80 yards , behind a blowdown stump and looked our way. All that Tracy and I could see of him was his head , a little of his neck and the top of his back. We froze for , it seemed like 5 minutes. Neither of us was comfortable enough for the shot. Finally he started walking again , and I was able to stop him with a few grunts. She has a couple of Savages. A 30-06 and a 7mm-08. She used the 7mm today. So far she is 2 for 2 with the 7mm. She also whacked a Black Bear this spring.
It is a Savage Axis, LH youth model. 150g Federals.
