I am having my moose hunting partner come up from 100 mile to see firsthand the procees of turning yesterdays mulie into roasts, steak, burger..a seperate day for making sausage will be upcoming.
If there are 1 or 2 other new local hunters interested in watching this process feel free to contact me..
The process is the same for elk, moose..just the cuts are bigger .
Doing your own game allows freedom to make size portions.or favorite cuts to your liking.
As well we will be using the newVacmastet 215 chamber sealer with 4ml bags..will take some photos for article later on.
Cheers

No I bought out of Ontario...Cedarlane...the shipping of this 100 pound machine..yes 100 pound professional grade..was $9....1,000 bags 4ml was $100 shipping included. I have the unit set for air evacuation...40 seconds, double sealing 1.5 seconds...cooling 2 seconds..pretty impressive results.
Prior to this..double sealed ziplock baggies..plus freezerr wrap..plus freezer tape...4 minutes maybe 60 cents per package? Maybe more? Now 45 seconds 9 cents, guaranteed never have freezer burn...easier on Susan..nowhere near the $$$ of butchers..nor of my sausage stuffer nor grinder....

So far 2 deer,1 pronghorn, halibut, cod, still have goat tag and elk tag..its gonna save time...the cost will takes several seasons....but superior results...for a group of say 4 hunters..ideal..
No not for everyone..but just an idea whats out there..
Cheers

Have always used Food-Pak in Vancouver for commercial vac pack maintenance and bags for the fishing lodge. The real machines sure work better then the London drugs ones! ( like I have at home! )

Saved on bags this year by canning my last blacktail.

Hmmm results over several years...will take several years..lol however the oiled pump on this chambersealer should definatly outperform and outlast the oiless ceramic london drugs units, also it doesnt suck moisture or fuids out of the bag nor into the motor.
Anyway Sunday is to pass on how to break down an animal into primal cuts, then the options for each of those primal portions..Brandon had asked while we were moose hunting...just an oppportunity to pass this knowledge on, followed at a later date by a day doing sausages...maybe German breakfast sausage...or dinner sausage.have regretably had to toss game meat from time to time due to freezer burn...no more...and helps Susan...if I could count the packages she has wrapped over 20 plus years...she is a Saint..

Very nice offer for anyone wanting to learn. I have had the Vac Master 215 for a few few years now. They are awesome. It is hard to believe something that size weighs so much!!!
