Well, not much of a story to tell, but since it's my very first deer, thought I'd throw up a post and thank all of you for your experience and knowledge. In my first real season of hunting this year, and put many miles on the truck and my new boots. Made many day and weekend trips up the Coquihalla scouting new areas and found plenty of deer sign and loads of grouse. Once I got the letter in the mail that I had drawn a mule doe, I started to focus my attention on the Cache Creek area. Glad I did, immediately started seeing bucks, does, hares, grouse and significant moose sign. Put quite a bit of small game in the freezer, but just could not connect with a buck. Passed on many smaller does in my travels and decided to pull the trigger November 8th. Finally got to cut a tag and fulfill my LEH, with a nice fat doe and couldn't be happier. http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/webkit-fake-url://382fe5c3-b27b-43c9-91a9-52fac5f9a643/imagejpeg

Congrats. My family got 2 decent flat tops in region 3 last weekend as well. Not sure what does usually weigh on the hook but the one was 105 with no head hide or legs past the knees so I figure it was a decent one. Had some backstrap last night and it is definitely some good eats! Enjoy!!!

It was a pretty fat doe. After I skinned and deboned the meat it weighed out to 68lbs. Was great eating, barbequed the tenderloins right away in camp.
