First Tag Out

Connected with a whitetail this weekend. After a couple days of stalking, sitting, rattling and spotting I decided to go for an evening cruise. Nearing last light at the top a higher elevation cut block I was thinking this was a stupid idea then I spotted this guy broadside at 230 yards. After a short look I figured he would do, so I sent a 200 grain TSX on it's way. Once I could line up the scope again all I saw was legs up in the air. Feels great to have this rifle and load tuned in!

First time I've taken an Elk, Muley and Whitey in one season, and quite happy with each of them. Most importantly the freezer is full for the family and I get bonus points from the wife for being done early :-D.

You bet. Probably wouldn't have taken that shot last year with the way it was acting with factory ammo.

I did exactly that three years ago, Elk, WT buck, MD buck in region 4 and a BT buck here on the Island. Plus 2 black bears. It was one heck of a season. But not to take away from Mike. Great deer he would do for me any day and congrats on a great season.
