Very sad to hear of this accident, condolences to all family and friends of said guide.

Thats why I have elected to take pictures of many I deemed to dangerous to shoot, and recover in brutal terrain.

Hunting goats in Nov is a bad idea, period.

Shitty deal. Condolences to all involved. No doubt goat hunting can be a dangerous undertaking at this time of year. Be safe out there.

Crappy deal. It's a tough hunt and it's tougher out there in this cold. Sometimes it's hard to say "No, that's too dangerous." Anything can happen out there no matter what we hunt. Condolences to all friends and relatives.

It would interesting to know the circumstances .. a simple slip or mishap and it only takes a few feet to fall and hurt yourself fatally . I find November to be the best time to goat hunt , the snow drives them down and they are taken off low ledges .. snow makes a good landing . However , sometimes its not a walk in the park . sounds like a young guide . perhaps a small misjudgement . could have happened to anyone .. Bad luck ..

Unbelievably sad. My dad guided goats in that territory for 12 years. Very unforgiving country.

Mountain Goats sometimes are dangerous , they have been known to kill bears .

RIP Jeff, you will be missed by all that knew you. I'll be seeing you on the big mountains on the other side someday. PS.. Leave a big goat for me buddy.

Guides and hunters often take it to extremes , beyond what any other occupation would consider safe with out roping up.
my condolences go out for this one , and his family

Almost happened to me one time while scaling a rock cliff while going to get above the goat for a stalk. A rock the size of a Harley Davidson I was using as a grab point came loose! Had to become Spider-Man as I swong to the right on one hand hold to get out of the path of the falling boulder! I group hugged my family that night!!!

My sincere condolences to his family.

There's some more info. Unfortunately he didn't have life insurance. That's a tough one.

Shitty deal. Perhaps WSBC will help out as in essence it was a work site. Sucks to have this sort of thing take place. I was wondering what the Commerant was doing at our local airport yesterday. :(

Condolences to his family and his wife. A young life cut short, and a terrible loss.

But he died doing what he was passionate about, and there are far, far worse ways to go.

Sadly, but Truthfully, it isn't the one who is gone that one needs to be sorry about, it is the ones left behind.
Although, surely this gent would like to be at home hugging loved ones as well, as they would him!
Sad, to think this can happen....something tragic from something we are all so passionate about.
My condolences as well!

A tough blow for a family business in its first year of operation. Could happen to any of us who love chasing goats. Hits close to home.

Very sad. My heart goes out to the family. To bad about the life insurance. It would be tough to not go into the mountains without it.
3 times I feared for my life and they were not in combat while deployed with the military. It was goat hunting.
So sad for the family
