What a great way to spend a Sunday morning! Lots of birds flying at first light and I learned something, actually a few things....
Kuiu VIAS camo sucks in the marsh! Soon as I took it off the birds started committing!
Leave a big hole in your set so the birds can have an open place to land.
3" #1 shot isn't as good as 3 1/2 BBB or BB (or it could have been a particularly bad day shooting)
Don't over call (was being too aggressive)
Its bloody hard to focus on one bird when their are 20+ in the air... pick one and forget the rest! :mrgreen:
A dog would be a great addition to a waterfowler's life! Just about every time we shot a duck would have to retrieve it in the boat before the tide took them out pretty quick. Could have had our limit in the first hour except every time we had to get out in the boat another flock came bombing around the deeks!
Eagles are theiving bass tards but fun to watch as they steal your bird!
