Last year was a rough year for her without a deer down. Took her out this week and first morning out we spot two bucks with 4 does. The spike and a doe disappeared. A huge bodied two point stayed with 3 does. We stalked them along the ridge for about 1/2 kilometer. We set up where i figured they would cross our view. Three does came out, no buck. I told her to wait and hold on the bipod; he's coming from the brush. He waddled out of the trees, sniffing the does. I called him and he stopped. 145 yards on the leica rangefinder, 80 grain. 243 and right behind the shoulder. I saw him jump from the impact, we walked back to get the truck to give him some time. . 20 yards into the trees, there he lay. Proud husband, happy wife, awesome trip. 5119
