just like he said our annual family hunt, dad came from ontario and Steelpulse came up from Vancouver. planned 4 days of hunting to look for a spike moose and mule deer. walked for a solid 3 hours, saw some does and began the stalk. spotted 5 does through some trees and they were bring vocal, bleating and looking around. i moved up to get a better look around and my bro and dad stayed a bit back. spotted a 4X3 at about 80 yards, but it was behind some brush so I didnt take the shot and he walked behind a hill. I took off my boots and moved closer to get a clear shot, i made it about 50 yards and turned a corner and saw the 4X3 sparing with a 5X4, they were touching antlers and grunting away, soon as i got a clear shot, BANG flop. coolest part was the 4x3 started going at my buck on the ground and didnt leave until i yelled back at my bro. 45/70 with lever evolution 325 grainers, blew one lung clean in half and the liver to pieces and exited the other side. my biggest buck to date and could not ask for abetter time. shared this hunt with my dad and brother and now we have 3 more days to hunt whatever we want, chukars tomorrow, ducks or whatever else crosses our path.

beauty deer and beauty gun.
congrats.

careful, you might get flamed by some on here who insist that the deer just aren't allowed to rut yet.

I know right, the rut doesn't start until at least the 11th but today we saw rut action and a friend took 2 4 pts in cache creek and witnessed fighting humping and serious deer rut action so we say rut is on

beauty deer and beauty gun.
congrats.

careful, you might get flamed by some on here who insist that the deer just aren't allowed to rut yet.

Nice buck, nice story. Best part?

"I took off my boots and moved closer to get a clear shot,..."

You know its getting serious when you take off your boots! I've thought about doing the same thing myself.

yaaaa, still not making much sense.
maybe speak it out loud as you are typing and make sure it matches up.
if it does, then either put the bottle down, or you might as well just finish it altogether.
