So after lurking on this site for a year I finally have something to post. Thank you all for the info on Logan lake it really is a great place. My boys and I scouted 3-19 for the last month to find the best area for a nice size doe and try and get a buck. We had seen some real monster does but no bucks. We had seen close to 100 dear. So this week with any buck season winding down we set out on Wednesday two days before my leh kicked in to hopefully get a buck. Day one we spot 20 deer right by our camp and in our camp. No bucks but having a good time. Day two starts out the exact same way with tons of does and one nub. So we didn't get the buck we where hoping for. Leh day has arrived we are all pumped this is it we are nailing this no problem. We wake up at 600 out at first light. We start walking to where we always have seen the deer and nothing. No problem its still early. We walk for the next hour nothing. We run into some fellow hunters that we befriended and they report the same. We continue walking different areas for the next 2 hours and only see 2 deer with no chance on them. We are really scratching our heads now. Have the deer read the regs and booked it. We decide to try one last area before we break for a quick bite. We hear a gun shot we all are like wow figures. Are we jinxed or what? We make our way back to camp and it turns out it was our new friends. We were so happy for them. It lit a fire under our but we were not going to get skunked. So we set off in a new direction towards where they got there doe but on the backside of it. We walk for half hour and nothing. Then on a whim we try this other trail and not even 10 mins down the trail my son spots a deer up the hill about 150 yards. I looked at her and could see she was a nice size doe. I shot her once and down she went. Out come 5 other deer from where I don't know. The walk back to camp was the easiest 3km I have walked. I finally shot my first deer and couldn't have asked for anything better than have my two sons be a big part in it. 30kms of hiking = one deer = priceless memories
