Wool flip-overs. Not waterproof but wool still insulates when wet. A good pair will keep you warm well into the negative digits and they give you all the dexterity you need. Plus they are cheap, you won't be hurting to much if you loose your pair.

Wool mitts are the best with a hand wormer even better.

I have a pair of snowmobile gloves but you'd have to take one off for the trigger. Been out in minus 10c and never got cold fingers or hands. Bought them 10 years ago and regret not buying a few pairs. You could also get some of these. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0022V3COG/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details?tag=viglink20633-20

I wear glomits ????
Canadian tire, they have fingers which are covered with a light cotton type material, and then a flip over mit on magnets.
not water proof, but atleast the mit get out of they way to use finger dexterity, and yet fingers aren't exposed completely to the cold.
if they made it with gortex....there would be real money to be made!!
saw a style from browning, hells gate name, a lighter glove but had great dexterity, and a 2nd layer fabric sewn on...they look interesting to me,
might buy some for next season...but u pay for the Browning name...40$
Canadian tire were a good price I thought...but a 2nd pair just because I like them a lot.

When I went to Sask. a few years ago my uncle gave me a pair of mitts that my cousin uses at work. They are pretty sweet. Easy to drop them off when needed. http://www.bobdalegloves.com/catalogue/mitts/50-1-1108-detail

I went with these gore-tex camo gloves from Cabelas, they're waterproof, decently warm, flexible enough to use binos and rifle, and they have the trigger finger free of extra insulation, just a leather finger cover, so you can get into any trigger. The negative of course is that finger gets a bit cold when it's well below zero. :-) Not a lot of money and you can slide those hand warmer packets in there if it's really cold...

I use these when it's really cold, and can still do mag changes and shoot no problem. Been in lots of cold with them. They are no good for water though, it has to be well below zero. For gloves, they're ok.

Pretty hard to beat mitts when it's really cold.

rag wool flip mits are pretty good, but it's hard to find a decent quality pair these days...there must be some quality makers out there, filson maybe

I wear a seal skinz glove with a wool liner unerneath if I know it'll be wet and cold, sometimes my sitka thin gloves, but that's only good to -10 or so

but in real cold I wear my snowboard gloves, mostly waterproof if you treat the leather...I take the liners out every night and let the sweat dry...my favourite winter glove...I still pulled the glove off to pull the trigger last year though

Thanks for the replies guys, I think Im leaning towards an all leather ski glove. Black diamond or north face perhaps. Not really interested in the wool flip gloves, they just get soaked when your bushing bush that's got snow on it. I have a pair of kuiu Yukon gloves that I forgot I bought, so I will try those with a fleece type glove inside. They kind of suck though, the hand portion of the glove is quite large to allow you to wear a decent glove inside of. But the wrist section is so small its almost impossible to get your gloved hand inside.

try a rag wool glove with welder gloves over top. not water proof but damn durable and warm. got me through a month of metal work in 2 feet of snow. easy to shake welder gloves off for a quick shot.

Im running the kuiu kenai glove . Had them out a few days this year blacktail hunting on van island in hard rain busting through timber and my hands stayed bone dry. They have OutDry membrane which is sapost to be 100% waterproof / breathable and so far seems to be holding up to that. Very happy with them so far.

I bought a pair of icebreaker merino wool glove liners, and put fingerless gloves or the flip mitts overtop if it gets cold enough. I can keep the flip top off my fingers and they don't get too cold, and dexterity stays almost as good as bare fingers! I can run the icebreakers on their own too, which is what I do most of the time, quick drying, keeps my hands fairly warm if I'm moving about. I would like to find one glove that does it all though, and I can't stand gloves with built in liners as a 2nd layer, the fingers always get turned inside out and I can never put them back..

My hands and feet really bother me now because of Diabetes, and I love to hunt every chance I get on my Quad, no matter how dam cold it is outside! I've got around 2 dozen different types of gloves I bought to try to keep my hands from getting painfully cold even with hand warmers on my Quad. And, the winning glove is, the cheap 6 dollar white wool half glove, half mitt one! I open up a pack of "Toe Warmers" with the sticky backs and put them in the mitt part as soon as I start getting ready to go out in the morning, and in no time there nice and warm! Good thing is I find them real fast to take off when I see game and half to load my Rifle, and when they do get wet, I grab another dry pair out of the back box of the Quad, where I keep 2 or 3 extra pairs!!!

Only thing I use is a pair of Kuiu Merino liners with a hand-warmer in each hand. Was out last year with this combo in -20 without issue. Nothing beats it.
