Hi,
I just returned from the north with a Bison. Had a good hunt, not many Bison around this year though in the area I hunted. My question is I want to do a European mount on the head but not totally sure of the best way. I have skinned and fleshed the head and removed all inside matter. It is currently soaking in a tub of warm water. Not sure on how to remove the horn sheaths and whether to simmer it in hot water now or wait until the sheaths come off. Once it has been simmered in hot water then scrape it then paint or soak in peroxide solution? Any suggestions ?? Thank you all in advance. Good luck to all late season hunters!! Be Safe. Way too many Grizzlies and Wolves up north this year.

Yeah lots of grizz and wolves everywhere this year.... Coyotes too, had packs howling at me last light in every direction. Simmer in large pot / metal garbage can preferably outdoors on BBQ. Pressure wash carefully to strip remains off /air nozzle works wonders inside, use face shield. I'd cover horns for process. Take pics for any needed reference / teeth etc.
