just back from my moose hunt !

My moose draw for 5-01 was a waste of time , just got back been up there since the
15th . Saw only 3 cow moose , very little game movment of any kind .
I don't know what is going on ?

Maybe too warm.I always put in moose draws in for November.Almost certain cold weather and animals moving.

5-01, 5-02 lots of tag soup. I hope there is less tags given out for the next few years. Build the numbers up a bit. More people need to hunt wolves and bears though. Black bears are getting most of the moose calves because there is so many black bears. Grizzly numbers are up too. I live here and I have yet to see a mule deer buck. 30 bears though.(29 fish eaters)

We had tag soup too. First week of the month. 4 guys all hunting different areas, all seeing the same thing. NADA

Same here,we got the coveted 'any bull'LEH which we only average once every five years,and went up to Nation lakes,but it was too warm,no moose.oh well,maybe we'll do better in 2019....I still say there's something wrong with the system when we live in a province where moose are abundant and only get a chance every five years...Being on the island means we only get one moose trip in a year,too.I'd be happy with one bull between 3 guys and able to hunt every year...because as it is,I'm about to give up even bothering,our average 30% success rate results in a bull every 15 years.What do you have to do,book an expensive guided hunt if you want even a meat bull?(which we're perfectly happy with anyway)

Hunted 5-01 hard for 9 days at the beginning of the month and only filled 1 tag of a group draw. Saw a total of 4 moose.

gutpile......We talked with you up Windy mtn. Our party was unsuccessful filling a bull draw as well. Weather awfully warm, and not much game movement. Heard a number of stories about wolves in the area, although we did not see a lot of sign. Saw only one cow moose, but we did take two mulie bucks for our efforts.

Wolf population is up,Moose is down yet the Ministry hit their goal of licences sold Its about the money not conservation

Had a very similar experience a few years ago in the September 5-01 any bull.....3 guys, 5 days and only saw 2 moose and 2 mulie doed, luckily one moose was a bull.

Where in 5-1? I of course did not get the LEH, but saw 3 beauty bulls in the 5-1 between Oct 15-19.

There has been lots of recent logging

Also very llttle sign of deer both mules and whitetails !
any ideas of why so few signs ?
