After shooting a spike buck in the am, we decided to head out around Kamloops lake for chukar, saw tons got 2, what a wild bird, epic flushes, amazing views and the story of a chukar hunt had many more shots but couldn't connect with those crazy fliers

Toughest wing shooting I ever experienced. Loads of fun though!

I went for birds today too. Had 2 chukar in the air, but they are bird ninjas! No shot.

Was told by a Chukar hunter to get above the birds and come down to them. Chukars run up hill and fly down. Tough shot on a bird that is going away, down hill and either right or left swing. Sure is fun.

Chukar call comes in handy for locating birds.

The birds taste great and are definitely a blast to hunt they are a pointing dogs meat and potatoes but on those days when they wont hold a good flushing dog is the silver bullet.

They seem to hold till the dog has them in their mouth then Explode.
Let me know if you ever want to go for a hunt. I will drive over for one for sure.

I have a spot where i have seen dozens running together late afternoons, i think they like the rail road tracks, for seed may get dropped from cars? Id like to focus on them one day myself but big game keep taking my mind elsewhere

Nice work! I love them birds! Nothing quite like a good chukar hunt in some beautiful country. A friend and I were out working his pup on a few coveys of chukar this past Tuesday. Haven't been able to think of much else since ha ha.

Was out and saw a cover of Chukers today. Yes they are bird ninjas. I never landed one. Yes they run uphill and fly down hill. Very fast little buggars. I had a .410. Tomorrow I go out again with a 20ga and a 12 ga for some distance! I want me some Chukars...

Sorry did not see post until today. How'd you make out Snowbeard? Any luck? I am seeing Chukars on N side of Kamloops lake in the sage brushy areas.

Just spent a day and a half hunting chukars farther up the Fraser valley. Saw plenty... had 5 chances where I actually fired the gun. got 1. They are fast & wily, and love the steep ground. Made me look like a complete amateur. I told them I'll be back next year. I think I heard them call back "bring it on, f*cker".

Hey guys. I'm originally from Nevada and grew up shooting these red legged Devils. I had no idea they were as close as Kamloops. Can anybody direct me in a general area? I'd like to take my Dad as his first hunt up here in BC. Take care.
