Awesome photos Steve...congrads to your daughter and son...some exellent tablefare and lasting memories..great photo of the owl...dont see many closeups like that.

Outstanding pics, as always, Steve. I really like the use of black and white on some of the landscape shots. The owl pics are great too. Have you been able to photograph any sheep lately? The ones around here are getting pretty amped up for the rut. Should make for some really good photo opportunities.

I love the Pika shots, as an animal I newly discovered 3 years back while waiting on a herd bull. They are fun creatures to watch. Thanks for sharing the amazing photos as always Dana.

The big lake in some of the pics is Kinnbasket in the Valemount area. I have a fall grizz draw for 7-02, so we did a trip up on the Thanksgiving weekend. My son's whitetail is from that trip. My daughter's whitetail is from Region 3. The tent is a 6 man Kifaru Tipi. It fits our family of 4 just perfect. I find the ol' canvas wall tent never gets used anymore as the Kifaru is so much easier to deal with. The small criiter is indeed a pika, aka rock rabbit. They make loud peeps. If you hear whistles, that would coming from their much bigger cousins, the Hoary Marmot. Both live in the same talus highcountry slopes. The camera is new to me as my old clunker gave up the ghost during a wet highcountry trip in early Sept. All these pics were taken with a Nikon Coolpix P600.

I'm just learning all the features on the new camera. I like the black and white but I think there are 4 b&w options so I am still getting to know which one I like best. As for the Kamloops rams, I haven't played around with them since the spring. I would like to get down there for a rut photo shoot, but I want to make another grizz trip and then my hunting will get serious for muleys so I probably wouldn't get a ram shoot in until Christmas time.

Like the blood moon shot. Wish I had took a picture of it happening when I was north of North. Took 5 days to find that moose, sad to say he is still there.

Not much of a story. Saw them run off the rd on the way to work. Stepped ito the timber and had this one run towards me and I shot him at about 10 yards. They sure are hard critters to hunt. ;) We have had 3 whiteys in 3 weeks hit the ground. All in different locals. I had actually seen this buck and his little buddies this summer. Knew it was just a matter if time before I saw one if them in the season.

My son got this muley this morning. The freezer is filling up.

Great looking antelope.....I mean Whitetail :mrgreen:. Those horns, I mean antlers look similar!

That is a full freezer or close to it with 5 deer! I'll be up that way for Christmas, looking forward to stopping in at the Birch island food bank!

Only 4 deer and 1 bear thus far. With deer this size, we will still need a few more. Maybe a late season moose too. ;) My second Region 3 whitetail tag will likely be saved for a bigger buck and my muley tag is likely to go uncut looking for a slug. Looking forward to seeing ya over Christmas.
