Got back yesterday from a trip to region 3 with pinhead since Friday. I would first like to thank Darksith for his help in sending us in the proper direction, without him we would have been going blind.

The first couple of days we struggled with finding deer, having what seemed like everyone else dropping deer around us made it even more painful! We stayed confident and continued hiking pretty much morning till night each day. We found a small area that was stuffed with does but sadly the only legal deer we spotted was a very small spike, something we both decided to let walk.

Normally I would feel down on myself but there was really nothing we could do to put the odds in our favor, neither of us have ever hiked so much and seen so much ground in such a short time-The bucks simply were not around the areas we were and I want to partially blame this on the long weekend traffic but I know that is just an excuse to make me feel better haha.

We ate like kings and drank like fish, great memories were made and lessons learnt....I think?

Once again, thanks to Darksith for the helpful information-It was a darn beauty of an area.

Hopefully next time a tag will be cut!!

I will get some photos up later on.

There will certainly be a next time! If the stars align I will get back up there for a night or two before the season ends.

man that is too bad...I was really rooting for you guys. Sorry I couldn't make it out for a visit, the wife has left for vegas, and my trip is in 2 weeks, so I didn't have many spare credits to burn. I will be in hunting camp from the 29th to the 9th, if you are around any time not in that window I will definitely tag along or join you. That being said if you come in that window you are more than welcome to join us, but we aren't gonna be in deer country as much as we will be in immy country. Lots of deer to be had in november. Keep me in the loop if you return to the loops, I will join you and/or show you more ground. Either way any trip is a gooder...next time come 2 weeks later. Those does will have the big boys on them soon.

I will keep this in mind for sure, I am pretty sure if I go I will be solo so will either just snooze in the truck or grab a motel for a couple of nights.

I will keep you posted!

Beautiful country indeed, thanks for the direction and tips Mr. Sith.

Wentrot got it right, a better time could not have been had. Even the terrible skunk couldn't put a downer on this trip.

I'd like to give a shout out to another member as well, "sleep robber". He posted an 8x10 canvas tent a few days before we left that I couldn't resist. I don't think we could have been more comfortable if I brought the travel trailer, a true "shangri la" for a couple of thirsty travellers like ourselves.

Sadly no trophy shots but a couple nonetheless, if you recognize the area be a gentleman and keep it to yourself.

My find, should make a nice rattle for the blacktail woods

Cheers gentlemen, if you see the tent out there stop in for a beer

Looks great Brad, glad the tent worked out for you and your partner, that looks like some real nice country and by the looks of the sheds a possible "very productive" one also.:)

good hunting to you both !!
