Met up with field marshall, franchi kid and hardie boys dad for a shoot on opening day. I wasn't even sure if I would go but I knew I had to keep up the streak. As some may recall, yours truly has tripled in the opening volley for the last 2 years running, And I knew that if I was a no show it would be seen as a sign of weakness and I would probably never hear the end of it. 5 Minutes before go time field marshall let me know they would be more than glad to watch me fail and I responded that due to a couple drinks the night before it might be just easier to get them all with one shot. Well only a few minutes later my chance came in the form of a pair of mallards, not the triple I had hoped for but worth a shot..ol' kk pulls a text book 2 with one shot right over Franchi kids head.....I am starting to feel like the guy in the Deer Hunter playing Russian roulette.....hell of a streak going but when it ends it is not going to be pretty. A very good hunt for not being on the X. Nice to meet a new guy that is a great mentor for these young guys we hunt with. Good also to see field marshall hasn't lost his yelling voice when we miss.
