While my luck at finding a WT buck this year leaves much to be desired...I will wait to take a doe until bow season this Dec.

Young and older Wayne?? How about anybody that wants the tastiest chops ever! I always try to take a WT doe. The best of the best when it comes to deer meat imo!

And believe me..they are some cagey in Reg 3 where I hunt. Not as easy as you may think to knock one down. Lots of guys try but never see one. Here are a few from years past for motivation and hopefully I will have a new pic of one after this weekend.

Lol @ love mywinchester .... Find it hard to believe people struggle to shoot one in a season when I run into 20-30 a day ... Guess it depends where and how your hunting. Never had the desperation to shoot a doe persOnally but to one there own I'm sure they are tasty. One question how does a doe taste better than a spiked whitey or even a 2 or 3 point in that matter ? An old doe could still be tough no ? Myth...?

I've never had any desperation to shoot a doe either. I do it because I want to. I go hunting just for a WT doe this time of year. There is no doubt in my mind that its the best eating. I've had enough over the last few years to know and my friends are also blown away by it. WT doe chops on the bbq are incredible and done over birch coals they are even better. Small bucks are great tasting as well, no doubt about it.
In Reg 3 it is also your duty as a hunter to take a WT doe if possible. They upped the limit to two this year hoping people will take them to slow down the WT invasion.

As far as finding it hard to believe that people struggle to shoot one...there are still many people that hunt around Kamloops that will tell you they have never even seen a WT anywhere around the Loops.

I've never tasted WT doe, though I will shoot one if it doesn't have fawns with it..your right, those young WT bucks are reeally tasty...best tasting deer I've gotten to date was a WT spikey...

agree, the white meat is definitely the best I've had.
my little buck from last year was by far the tastiest I've gotten yet.
but I just can't bring myself to drop a doe.
way too nice of bucks out there to use a tag up on a doe.
guess I'm not really a meat hunter.

There is nothing wrong shooting a doe in regions that support it the management want the buck to doe ratio right that's why there they management have a GOS for WT does like others have stated the meat is as good as you can get to put on your dinner table good luck to all..

Headed out last weekend hoping for bucks. Buddy dropped one and the does were taunting us. Not next weekend! Headed back up and don't mind using both tags on does if need be. A couple little kids here asking about more deer meat! The area we were hunting was covered in them but I will say we only saw them on private land. Why wouldn't they be on fields now for the easy pickins?

Put 2 does down yesterday. Season was all over by 11 am! Surprising amount of traffic but most seemed to be road hunters. These deer aren't going to jump out and sit still with a target on their chest during the day you have to get out and look for them. Not too hard to find the pockets if you want to put a few miles on the ground looking for fresh sign.

People seem to constantly complain about how many hunters there are out there, but 90% of them don't even get outta their trucks so in reality why even care about the number of hunters out there.

I imagine there's a time we all do some road hunting but it's so easy to get out of the general area and get off the beaten path. You can have yourself a great day out there, and the deer etc etc will be a lot easier to find when your on the "hoof" in some good off road area rather than behind the wheel just cruising around. And besides, it's better for ya too !!

BTW, No offense to the elderly or handicapped persons that may not be able anymore.......

Here's hoping some flat tops drop for ya'll

Well said I road hunt every time I head in and out of my hunting area as for every time I go from A to B on my quad to get to a place I want to hunt..

What I don't understand is they upped the bag limit on Does in Reg.3 but they close on Oct.31st. If they truly wanted them exterminated then why not leave them open as long as WT Bucks? K

One guy said you would be lucky to find a WT near Kamloops. Last year we saw a herd of 12 or so, this year in the same area, we only saw one buck and one doe. I Took the buck last week, this week.. not a sign of WT in the area.
Saw 3 bear, 4 moose, almost 30 Mulies, 3 bucks, a coyote, countless grouse....
this weekend with all the road traffic I saw one mulie doe and a crow.
It was almost eerie.
