I was lucky enough to pull a tag in region 7 this year. It was the first time I put in for anything so I was excited. A along week of hunting yielded a few grunt backs, 2 grizzly charges and a lot of sweat. It wasn't as cold as I thought and everyone I ran into as saying the same thing, seeing nothing. The last morning I walked a side road where I had seen some sign the day before. Nothing was calling back but as I approached the next clearing there was a moose with a cow and calf looking right back at me. I shot once and he just casually started to walk off. I thought maybe I missed so I cow called and he turned again. BOOM, I knew I got him that time, but he just started to walk off again. He went about 15 yards and just laid down. After walking up on him I found that I had indeed double lunged him on both shots. My buddy was in school in Quesnell so I rushed down the hill to cell service to get him up there. After field dressing him and taking off a truck was stopped on the road. I went to say hi and it was a guide with 2 clients. They had been on a mountain above glassing and came to warn of a large lone grizz making his way from the cut above me. I showed some pics and the one client said he would of actually passed on my bull. Im not sure how big moose get in the interior but Im more than happy for this guy being my first moose. He has a ton of great color and a split behind his brows that is on the same side as a big notch in his ear. Never did run into that bear, moose measured out at 45 1/2 inches and Im hooked on moose hunting.

That is a very respectable bull for this area. If that client would have passed then he is wasting his money hunting this area and should have headed farther north!
