Went up to west harrison last weekend, put over 100 kms on my SxS and only saw one dropping of scat that looked weeks old. Looking to go up again this weekend. Anyone seeing anything around squamish, hope, chilliwack, Merritt ect?

Squamish is a good bet for bears. Although they are now feeding on salmon and their aroma is a bit fishy.

There are still bears in the Blue Berry patches in the LML. Most patches are as high up the mountain as you can drive or a little higher. Look up top to find bears that have not been into the dead fish. When you find a good patch with bears in it you will be able to go back every good berry year and find bears. The berries are starting to drop so look soon. The plus is that you will usually find some deer in those spots also.

I was going to try to stay away from bears on fish diets. Ive never seen a wild blueberry patch before, anyone care to give me a hint as to where i could stumble across one?

Seeing lots up the loops way, id turn down a salmon bear myself, tried some and it didnt taste that great. I like the idea of a mountain bear away from salmon and garbage

Best bet is in the alpine / sub-alpine.

I came across a little guy in 3-13 last week. Probably just kicked out of the nest. I scared the shit outta him while looking for grouse and hare.

No grouse. A hare ran across the road on my way out at mach 10, half dark, half white.

Went up Thurston mtn. Fsr and chipmunk fsr. Did about 50 kms, hike alot of trails, went up high, went down low on the river. Didnt see anything or any signs. Maybe squeamish would be a better bet next time.
