Was looking for a lightweight set of shooting sticks. Came across these simple things. Cheap and versatile. Thought?

I just made a set with a couple 3/4" bamboo garden stakes and a thick o-ring. Works awesome.

Get some electrical RUBBER tape...stretches, doesn't dry out, would be great for making your own, won't scratch your gun either, and nice soft notch that would be a bit sticky to your stock.

Here's the step by step video I followed to make mine. Plastic or bamboo stakes work, but the bamboo is a little more durable.

I made a set using tent pole sections and shock cord and bicycle tire tube
But that vid is sure showing some more versatile ways of rigging them up, will have to copy some.

I have a set and they are ok but take practice to get the full use of them. They are quick to set up but the lack of telescoping length means that they are a one fit for all.

A telescoping hiking pole will do a better job. I must admit that the dude dud gave me an idea with that belt pouch which would be right handy with my hiking pole.

Definitely prefer telescoping bipods. Allows me to use them when sitting or standing. I like to sit! A forked stick works too but only for a set height. I no longer pretend I can shoot long distances off hand.
