It was the third day of the hunt and we had walked in to an area in the dark to get set up where we wanted to be for first light. Found an area that looked good and sat down to cow call and let a couple bugles go. almost instantly we had a response and worked on luring him in to us. The bush came alive and we heard another bull to the left about a km away but thought nothing of it. The bull below us was going crazy and we were expecting him to come out at any time. during a moment of silence i heard a branch break about 300 yds away and then shortly after i heard another break closer yet. i told my buddy's that i heard somthing again and they said yayaya whatever as they were so focused on the bull below us.I told them i would move up the hill abit to watch the side bush to our left and they could care less what i was doing. I sat behind a dead fall and not 10 seconds goes by and i see the tips of antlers come trotting out of the bush and finally the body in full view. I can tell you that i didnt even hesitate as i sent 2-300 short mag bullets through his chest and rejoiced as he crashed not 60 yards down hill from where he stood. Good times with great friends.
