Curious what some of you guys use for gaiters? Looking for a good set of QUIET gaiters. It seems like all the ones I look at are noisy as hell. Do they even make quiet gaiters?

I have a set of Black Diamond Gators from Sport Check, keep my legs dry and the noise isn't too bad. Does the trick for me.

I have a set of noisy outward bound. But I cut up an old pair of hunting pants that I melted too close to the fire once and cut out sections to rubber cement them to my noisy gaiters. Worked like a charm and I love em.

Got mine at Cabelas a couple of years ago. They were discontinued and reduced price around $70. They work great; are quiet, keep you dry and have stood up well for durability so far. Unfortunately checked out their website and there is nothing comparable price wise now.

Kenetrek makes gaiters and they are tall and quiet. I like mine.

The kuiu Yukon gaiters are pretty awesome, a lot quite than the OR ones. Ad approx. 30 bucks to the price though for extras and if they aren't back ordered.

I got a pair of Browning fleece Gators from River Rip Off a few years ago. They work pretty good. Go see gay Dan, maybe he can set you up.

I made my own from an old pair of rain pants as well.
Just couldn't see spending the kind of $$$ they want for a couple cylinders of cloth to go over my ankles!
Mine are fairly crude but you don't need whistles and bells for gators really. Plus they cost me nothing but time and a pair of pants that were being tossed anyhow.

Kenetrek Gators...distributor is in BC. Quiet and good quality. Make sure you order extra boot straps in case a set breaks. They are only $2 for extra straps.

Anything plastic or nylon are noisy , including most brands mentioned here. Gaiters need a deep pile or nap to muffle the sound of grass or branches slapping them.
Lots are water proof , but non are silent. the best I found were Swiss Army surplus that were made of a wool felt.
Consider making a fleece sleeve to go over top of a standard gaiter , or a large wool sock with the toe cut off.
