If you're thinking about a mount just do it or you'll regret it like me, the deer in my display pic was my first a nice 5x5 with a few 1 1/2 inch stickers at the bases, I "did t have the money" for a mount at the time so we just whacked the skull off, I regret it every time it look at them now.

Great buck NEEHAMA. There is no doubt that mature WT bucks are sneaky as hell so that's a beauty for sure and will be some great eating. I missed a 1yr 1/2 old spiker WT opening day of bow near the Loops and I am still kicking myself. Dreaming about the backstrap steaks that were so close at hand. I'm stoked for you and your smile says it all. Like said before above, I would love to hear the story of the hunt.

I gotta tell you though when you say"Not bad for a Reg 8 buck", you are selling Region 8 short. As a Reg 3 WT hunter I have to tell you that I look at Reg 8 as where the crankers are. Reg 8 is where you need to go for a big, farm fed fat WT buck. Look at any Big Buck mag and check out where the big WT come from. Mostly Reg. 8.

Thanks everyone! ive been hunting reg 8 and it seems the deer up north peace country etc are larger...or so from what ive seen....normally the wt I see in reg 8 are smaller basket type....this is my first mature wt buck.

nice early season buck should be excellent eating (the real trophies on the bbq)

Ive decided to get it shoulder mounted for the wall...it was a great trip...my group harvested 2 more smaller bucks so the mount will help remind me/us of the good times we had !!
