Sheep bedding habits

These 3 rams were bedded or feeding in the buck brush close the valley floor about 250 yards from the horse trail. Being new to sheep hunting this seemed like an odd place for rams to hang out. We watched them here for about an hour before we left. The rams were still there as we rode away. The 2 bedded rams a below and a little right of the one standing. Only the horns are visible the 2 bedded rams. Is this a normal place to expect to find rams? Would only these little rams be in a place like this?
