I headed out of work a few hours early. Picked up my household jr hunter (son) and headed out. Mainly for grouse but I always pack my rifle just in case we see a 4 pt mulie or any WT buck. We flushed 7 grouse. Jr hunter carries the shotty. He got three shots off but nothing to bring home. Was a weird grouse hunt. All seven we flushed seemed extremely sketchy and flushed pretty much out of shotty range. We got closer to a doe tonight than any grouse. Most times you can walk right up on a grouse and and almost hit them with a stick. Anyway. Total spotted this evening: 7 grouse, 2 mulie does, 2 fawns, 8 or so rabbits. Lots of smiles. How about you?

Decent sized 3x3 mulie with two does less than 60 yards from the back door. Still had some ragged velvet hanging one the left side.

your quad buglers are more advance then the ones I see, these guys shut the quad off for at least 5 mins before bugling. Had a couple cows come out but no bulls, saw a few whitetail does and a couple grouse no meat in the freezer today

I saw more animals on Tuesday than I've seen in a long time. Caribou herd, beautiful 6 point elk, huge mulies and more. But sadly it all ended and I had to leave Bass Pro to catch my flight home.

A blackie came into 5 yards to investigate my cow calling, bit of a surprise when I turned around! Also bugled in a pair of hunters, bit of a traffic jam on the FSR!

The outside of a couple of McEwan's Scotch ale bottles just before sucking down the contents...my son getting two muleys before the season began has me a bit lackadaisical. :-D

Couple hundred kms today (about 50 on gravel) and absolutely nothing but crows. The geese that I saw twenty times this year are notably absent from their hidey-holes and the grouse I kept seeing are now quaking deep in the woods.

Highlight was a 40 minute chat with the Whistler CO. Traded a bit of intel. Good guy.

got out today...day 2...saw 2 2 point mulie bucks, 3 does, 5 chickens and I harvested 1 duck. I also found a trail to a guys cabin, and then met him on my way out...he was driving a budget rental truck, said he was kind of a guide, and seemed a little concerned about me knowing about him...I suspect its an illegal cabin (haven't seen it, just asked him about his trail and if there was a cabin), not sure what to make of the "kind of a guide" statement, and he seemed a little strange. I will go check it out with my SxS one day for shits and giggles if I don't see a vehicle parked at the trail head. Could care less about an illegal cabin, just jealous really...he also tried to tell me there wasn't much around, but we shot a moose and deer on that same road last year, he obviously likes his privacy.
