Is there much difference between where nannys and billys live. Do Billys prefer steeper cliffs or anything like that. I know a spot where I have seen lotsa nannies and im just wondering if the billys should be close on other cliffs or if in the early season they will be peaks away. I also know a spot that looks like a real grind to get to that I've definitely glassed billys on. So many options and I gotta choose where to hike to soon.

If it's an area that's hunted at all there will likely be more billy's if your willing to hike further. Other than that they are in the same terrain.

They prefer the same terrain but Billies are generally loners and nannies tend to be in groups with other nannies and kids.

Usually billies are higher up and in more rugged terrain, usually. However once they start to rut they will be wherever the chicky poos are. With that said two weeks ago I glassed a herd of 20-25 nannies and kids which had a billy following closely.

Less than 2 months and they will be right down harassing those nannies!

locate a group of nannies and kids, then start glassing above them in harder to reach places. if you see a white spec up there, that might be your billy!

True that!

Nannies squat their rear end down to pee. Billies stretch out their front legs to stretch out their bodies to pee. Just an FYI if you are studying them trying to tell one from the other.

This should help determine nannies and billies
