If the RCMP withdrew the money from my account for the renewal does that mean it will be processed soon and I will have a new PAL arrive shortly?

Thanks

How long after they cashed the cheque did you get it back? I sent mine in about 3 weeks ago and they took the money out about one week ago so it seems be moving along quickly.

Should come back somewhere between 6 weeks and 1 year. I got mine back in 3-4 months, but I had to call. Now I hear reports that calling isn't helping anymore.

The payment is processed when the feds open the application. They're pretty quick, but the bottle neck seems to be at the provincial level.

Oddly enough most reports for initial PAL application turn-around is 5-6 weeks. My gf got her first license in the mail in 34 days after mailing it if I recall correctly. We were happy, but confused as to how they can be too busy to renew PAL's--even expired ones in some cases--while the new apps sail right through. It's mind boggling.

It took me 2 months to get it after they with drew from my credit card, Best thing to do is to sign up to Login to the firearms website, then you can track your application on a daily basis , its better than waiting on the phone for an answer.

No kidding...mine expires 2017 and I was contemplating getting a jump start on it as soon as this season was over...

The problem may be that if you renew now they will not start your renewal from 2016 but rather they will start from the day it was issued.

I have heard that they are holding up renewals if you have a restricted PAL and firearms, unless you send in proof of a range/gun club membership.

I'm in the 11th month of waiting now. I've sent all the info to my MP, Andrew Saxton, to see if he can help. I have (had) the restricted license, although I do not own any restricted firearms. That said, nobody has contacted anyone (me or my wife) to ask for more info, so I'm not sure they've even looked at my renewal.

I had sent mine in on may 2 and they received it on may 5 of this year and got approved on June 4 and received it in the mail 10 days later. All good even though it was restricted and nonrestricted but don't own any restricted firearms.

Sent mine in march for a July expiration. Called two weeks ago to find out what was going on. They said we see you have restricted guns all we need is a copy of your range membership. I asked when they planned on contacting me for this information. No answer. Sent it in and just got it yesterday. Great system!! Lol
