I've been super busy with work trying to free myself up to go hunting on September 10 and I haven't sited in my new 270.....

In the past ive gone out to bear creek and made a day of it but i'm so pressed for time, I'm hoping to find somewhere closer to Richmond.

I'd like to get at least 20 rounds through it so far enough away that i don't piss anyone off....

If anyone has any spots they could share, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!!!

just go to Poco Rod and gun, tell Colin or Paul your sighting in your rifle. Trust me. They will even help you if you have trouble, they are good guys. Even the members are cool enough to help you. Awesome place, too bad you didn't post earlier I was just there on Monday. The reason Im steering you to a range is firstly, the distances are already measured and 2nd you don't have to aimlessly drive around looking for a gravel pit and now you gotta measure out your 25 and 100 yard target and not bump into people already there. Just a pain in the ass to find a gravel pit if you already don't have one in mind.

I agree with a range or a gravel pit.
I hate when guys go out to the hunting areas on a bit of a scout and then set up and do some blasting.
nothing like making sure the deer are well aware that we are on our way.

I have to agree with the above posts:
Poco Rod and Gun is the way to go if you are in Richmond.
Google maps show that it should take 45 min from Shell and Cambie.
As mpotzold mention, call first.

Have fun with it... .270 is a great round!!

they are open Thursday to Monday, the address is 5000 harper road. You either pay 170 for the year or 25 bucks each time. I would stay away on the weekends cause sometimes you wait an hour before you get a bench. Depending on how many times you go shooting in a year you may as well get the one year membership.
