I came across this video on youtube tonight. It is fairly long (45 minutes) but there are a number of interesting lessons. I particularly think the first half contains very interesting points. Here is the direct link to clip:

They illustrate in a few ways how hunters help mule deer conservation, which the audience here may find interesting.

One interesting statistics was that one highway killed indiscriminately three times as many deer as hunters did in that management unit. What I found inspiring was the deer corridors they made along highways. These provided safe passage for mule deer during their migrations. I know several BC highways cut through historical mule deer migration paths (e.g., coquihalla), but do not know if we are doing the same thing here in BC. If not, why not push for it politically or through communities?

Lots of hot spots in BC , but its a matter of economics , until a special interest group speaks up . ICBC is a special interest group , and gets highway fencing where it suits them.
