Yup. Deer, black bears and grouse to be had. I would recomend it.

The only cabin that was available when I had a doe draw up there for Nov. 1 had a door that wouldn't fully close, an airtight that had to be stoked all night and was so cold that my water container froze inside the cabin.

Nice people though, they brought us a mini jack o'lantern Hallowe'en evening. The pack rat in the ceiling was cute.

Stayed many times to fish. My cabin was fine and Jim and Barb are great hosts. Have seen deer, bear, rabbits and grouse.

Lets just say the Steeleco and Elkhound youth have had and will be making FULL use of the facility during this coming youth season. While I tow a trailer now the cabins are pretty good, lot better than staying in a tent!!

I have never stayed there but it is a higher elevation lake and very clear water. You can see fish swimming 50 feet down. They also get grizzlies there but I have never seen one. http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p242/edzzed/adamslakesept2008124.jpg

I think this Sept LWE is our 5th or 6th stay at the resort. Over the years we've got to know a few others that camp the same weekend. They are scuba divers. They go there because of the water in the big lake. The little lake right at the resort is nearly as clear. Good fishing in both.

Greendrop lake is the only other lake that I've fished that is near as clear at Johnson.

Also do you guys know if theres a meat pole there for hanging?

They have 3 meat poles. One where you can back the truck right up against then skin and bag your game. Close by there's 2 well hidden tall poles that afford you to hang whole deer and still have them out of reach of 4 legged thieves.

We have seen heard sign of wolves, but I think once any buck season begins, dogs are the least of your concern. Lots of local roads are perfect for locals in Barrier and such to "take the long way home" from work!! I would if I lived closer.

I've been, but stayed in an RV site. Great hosts, hot showers, no power to guest cabins or RV sites, but wood to burn at will. Make sure you have enough fuel for your needs. No cell service, no pay phones, no worries of the outside world contacting you to spoil the fun. Game hanging posts a hundred yards from the cabins/sites, miles of forest service roads to explore.

Johnson is one of the most beautiful lakes in the province.
