Figured this would be as good a time as any to post a hunting story, after all that's what we are all here for right.
The 2013 rifle season ended without any deer on the ground for me so I was really looking forward to the Dec 1 archery season. I had my pop up blind set up for a couple days and was getting pictures on the cam of a nice mulie buck and some mulie does. Also had some pics of some whitetail does so my hopes were I might get a shot at a legal animal, I wasn't going to be picky.
I got into my blind at about 9:30 and it was cold -18. As I was hurrying to start my propane heater and set up my chair I thought I heard some crunching in the snow, I looked out the window and couldn't believe this buck had followed me right in. Quickly grabbed my crossbow and took the shot and off he ran. I hadn't even been at the blind 5 mins and all this had went down. He ran quite a way as the shot was a little back but it was still lethal. He is not the biggest buck but he is the first deer I have shot with my crossbow and the first animal I have killed out of my blind so I was pretty stoked. Had no cam for field picks so I had to wait until I got home for photos.
