My buddy has been bugging me to go chase Springs on Mable Lake. I haven't heard much from there so was wondering if anybody had some recent reports.

Thanks,
DD

Been working out that way as of late and hearing the fishing is slow, a few here and there but spotty at best.

It's a peak sockeye return year so spring numbers might be down. I was talking to DFO biologists last fall and the spring return was quite large for 2013.

Yes and easier to catch in the river if so inclined ... I haven't checked to see when that is open

If it's another boomer year for sockeye, the spring fishing could be so-so. The last huge sockeye run made it really tough to catch springs off the bridge in Enderby (the zoo bridge) because the sockeye were continually being snagged as the massive schools went thru. Since there was no retention for sockeye, a lot of snag and release fish ended up dying. What a waste.

We were just looking to fish on the lake and troll the 2km strip with 40 other boats for the first three hours of the each day. FUN

If you know the river and fish the deep troughs in and behind the chutes you can hook some very nice greenbacks in august! Tight lines- BULLNUTTS

A buddy just stopped by the house on his way home from Mable .... both he and his son had 23 lb salmons . He said there were 40-50 boats fishing "salmon alley" and didn't see a lot of other fish caught , just his lucky day I guess . Be prepared to pay $10 for parking as that area has been claimed by the natives .

There's a sign that say "No fishing from bridge" but it is ignored. Lots of debatable and illegal activity on the bridge and it is a zoo.

Surprise, surprise. I will be in the prov campsite so my money will have to get to them through our gutless govt first.

Lol it's a local thing. Crazy and something I've never done. People here love it. Much better places to fish on the river

Fishing is still slow with the odd good school coming through. Big gaudy tarpon flies hit them when there their
